________________________________________

The Institute of Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine located at Northern Westchester Hospital, a 235-bed facility 30 miles north of Manhattan in Westchester County, has developed an integrated Breast Surgical Oncology and Aesthetic Breast Fellowship for postgraduate specialization in all aspects of breast health and disease. Now in its third year, this one-year program is unique in its emphasis on the principles of “aesthetic oncology” or oncoplastic surgery and multidisciplinary surgical planning. A surgical case volume of over 1000 breast procedures annually provides the breast fellow with technical experience in all aspects of breast surgical procedures from aesthetic and reconstructive, to symmetry and complicated re-operative procedures. Multidisciplinary breast management is experienced using an interdisciplinary approach by working with experts in breast and surgical oncology, plastic surgery, diagnostic imaging, medical oncology, radiation therapy, pathology and nuclear medicine in our new state-of-the-art, full service, dedicated Breast Institute at NWH. There is opportunity for clinical trial participation and clinical research experience through NWH’s Comprehensive Cancer Program accredited by the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer. In addition, NWH participates in the Westchester County Breast Health Program which serves high-risk and underserved women providing breast fellows with opportunity for leadership in community work. Candidates should be Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery , or have completed either accredited Surgical Oncology or Breast Surgery Fellowships.
