Dr. Morello is PAST PRESIDENT of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), which is the leading professional organization of plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who specialize in cosmetic (aesthetic) surgery. With 1500 world-wide members, ASAPS is at the forefront of innovation in aesthetic (cosmetic) plastic surgery around the world. He has been cited as one of the leading plastic surgeons in the United States, and is included in numerous "Best Doctors" Lists.

Our private Ambulatory Plastic Surgery Facility (APSF) is one of only 500 in the world certified at the highest level by the AAAASF (The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities). We have been continuously certified for 20 years, and Dr. Morello is the a Past President of AAAASF. More information on accreditation is available from the associations web site (www.aaaasf.org) on which you can verify the status of accredited facilities.

Accreditation is a voluntary mark of quality, and indicates that our facility is fully equipped with the latest systems for insuring your safety during surgery and after. Our facility meets and often exceeds the same standards for patient care as those required in a hospital outpatient surgery unit.

Dr. Morello is the principal author of a recent article published in the journal "Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery" titled: "Patient Safety in Accredited Office Surgery Facilities."

Every measure has been taken to ensure your safety and comfort. Anesthesia services are provided by our own board-certified MD anesthesiologists. For the convenience of patients who wish to convalesce Morello is also credentialed in local hospitals for all of the procedures that he performs in the office.

Our facility is located 20 miles north of Manhattan, and is easily reached by automobile, train, and air (10 minutes from Westchester Airport, 30 minutes from Laguardia).

Consultation

Consultations in our office are different in that you spend approximately 30 minutes one-on-one with Dr. Morello, who personally explains the procedures and does computer imaging. Our patients find this preferable to having office personnel or a nurse explain the surgery (as is done in many offices).

Computer Imaging

We live in a very visually oriented society, as a few minutes in front of TV or looking at a fashion magazine will attest. Pictures have a great impact on us; they speak to our emotions, and are closely linked to what we perceive as out needs, and perhaps even more so, to our wants. For years I have had to rely on my spoken words to convey to patients what I planned. Now, however, the current computer and morphing technology allows me to provide a glimpse of your future, and takes pressure off the spoken word. This is not to imply that the verbal portion of your consultation is unimportant. The rapport established therein is critical to a successful doctor-patient relationship.

No longer do you have to search photo albums for a face similar to your own. Computer imaging takes things several steps beyond, and allows changes to be made on your own picture. Imaging is thus a very personal tool.

Imaging is a means to more easily depict a realistic expectation and give you a more complete understanding. This generates a sense of security in the decision-making process, and makes the entire experience more concrete, less abstract.

The visual impact is beneficial for you and results in less presurgical anxiety. Keep in mind that I am realistic in using this technology and do not suggest enhancements that cannot be delivered. The imaging process makes it easier for you to convey your goals and expectations. It is an excellent communication tool and has added to the overall comfort level of my patients.
